Developer guide
How can I extract recipes from TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube?
Turn selected recipe posts into structured ingredients, toppings, and ordered steps, then build a recipe app.
Start with a post
Turn a recipe post into a structured recipe
Choose a public TikTok video, Instagram Reel or post, or YouTube video or Short. Give its URL to Mamitsu with a prompt describing the recipe details you want. Use the same prompt across your selected posts so your app can organize the results consistently.
Ask for the dish name, ingredients, toppings, and preparation steps in order. Add a schema if your app needs fixed field names. Keep each result with its source link so you can revisit the creator's original post.
Get the recipe from this post: the name of the dish, the ingredients, the toppings and the steps in order.A real Instagram example
From a post to a recipe record
The Instagram guide records this extraction from a public Instagram post. The prompt above produced a recipe for 15-Minute One-Pot Creamy Miso Udon. The field contract in that guide was reconstructed from the recorded example.

"Add a handful of spinach to the pot.",
"Transfer the noodles, spinach, and egg to a bowl.",
"Pour the broth over the noodles."

}This is an Instagram result, not a sample result from TikTok or YouTube. To try those platforms, use your own public recipe URL with the same prompt and review the returned details.
Review the recipe
Keep the source and check missing details
Recipes can appear in the video, spoken audio, or caption. A post may not specify quantities, cooking times, or every step. Do not fill gaps with guesses: leave unknown details open and compare the result with the original before cooking or sharing it.
Review ingredient quantities, allergens, and safe cooking instructions with particular care. Keep the creator's source link with the recipe and respect the creator's rights when displaying or sharing it.
Build a recipe app
Try the workflow in Lovable
Build an app that accepts a recipe post URL, extracts the dish, ingredients, toppings, and ordered steps, and lets people review and save the recipe alongside its source.
